...holiday in cambodia...

what the heck...i'm in cambodia...at an internet cafe...drinking beer for $1.75 which is bloody expensive...water is $0.12/litre...dinner was about $1.25 and our guest house is $3...and that about sums up this shit hole of a town that we are in...ok so i'm being a bit judgmental...but really it's filthy...seems as though cambodia is the poorest place on earth...at least compared to laos it seems poorer...the people are very kind...it's super cheap in both laos and cambodia...one can live here from less than $10/day pretty easily...

laos is really cool...i would easily come back here...even though there's no ocean or sea...they have a really nice fresh water rivers through out the country...and it's really refreshing swimming in fresh water...

we finished up are stay in laos on a little island called Don Kong...not king kong...it was absolutely beautiful...$2 bungalo on the meikong river...swimming everyday...water falls...sandy beaches...it was very chill and the nicest place that i say while in laos...i would like to go back and motorbike or cycle through laos, cambodia and vietnam next time through here...

We met up with four other people while we stayed on Don Kong...Stephen and Carolin are from berlin...franklin is from sweden and laura is from the UK...we all hung out and had bungalows along the river...we stayed up all night and got silly...snacking on fresh pineapple, water mellon, oranges and lao lao...which is rice whiskey...it was really a great time...

this morning we traveled by tuk tuk...which is anything that can carry people and has a motor and anywhere between two wheels and 6 wheels...the tuk tuk took us to a beach where we transfered to a canoe for a trip down the meikong to the cambodian border...we walked over the lao board and then drove to the cambodian boarder...$22usd later with cambodian visa we mini bused south...then ferried across a lake...then another bus to where we are spending the night...

while we were on our last mode of transport it poored with rain...like a lot of rain...in fact there was so much rain that it started to rain insided the mini van through just about every window...it was nice

we are just chilling now as we will be heading to phenom pen tomorrow to meet up with decland our friend from Vientane...

peace

Ah, the Dead Kennedys would be enchanted with your travelogue!
I, however, am cursing your very name for the visual you've left us with in recounting your intestinal distress. Thank the goddess, I was not eating soup at the time. Ack! :-(
