let's bring u up to speed part one...the basics

well i met up with josh in prachuap on sat...two days after i left...he lives in a small town about 5hrs south of bangkok...the school where he has lived for the last 5mths is really great...his adopted mum is really great...very hospitalable...the night i got there one of the teachers gave us a beach house to stay at for free.

Josh and i hung out at the beach the next day and then climbed a small mountain near the beach that has a temple at the top and some monkeys at the bottom...there are monkeys everywhere. That night we hung out with josh's friends and chilled as we had a 5hr bus ride and a 14hr train ride to laos the next day.

The bus ride was predictable without any trouble we made it to the train and boarded the overnight car...sleeping arrangements were very good...josh had us booked in 2nd class sleeper which was good.

the next morning we arrived at the thai laos border...a short tuk tuk ride...complete laos visa application in triplicate...we needed two photos which we didn't have...i guess they don't really need them after all...hand over $42USD...change money into KIP...laos money 10,000 KIP to $1USD...pay another $1 to some dude with a gun...and voila...we are in Laos...heading to the capital by local bus...Vientiane is the capital.

Incidentially at the lao border we met a canadian guy with the name Josh Arron Greenberg and my nephew name is Josh Darren Greenberg...ya i guess we were on the right path.

the story that follows deserves it's own post...you will read what i mean...

peace
