so i was thinking as i sat in the middle of a chaotic busy 4 lane road in south delhi...the temperture somewhere around 110 or 44 celcius and the heat might have been frying my brain if it weren't for my ridoculous weak helmet that was wearing which was more afraid of the pavement than i was and thus my head felt more like a double boiled egg...about 3 inches to my left yellow tonka truck like buses rush past with the grace of an nine year old ballet dancer...the one that everyone knows won't be in ballet much longer as she has already surpassed that largest leotard size available at the kids ballet thrift store...to my right a blured hue of two and four wheeled vehicles...horses with their carts...a camel...incidently it was the first camel i have seen in india and might have just been an illusion...a few thousand pedestrians and while a pedestrian in itself doesn't cause much of a sense of urgency when there is a heard of them well then one has to start thinking of how fast one is going and whether there's enough speed to just break right through them...and finally we need not to forget the cows...the bulls...the water buffalos...and various dogs and rats that all the share the road in a semi balance of peace and neglectful generosity...
of course in my case...as i was thinking...amongst all this peace and quite why my friend had not shown how to restart the motorcyle that had just stalled that was between my legs...
now please hold judgement for a few precious moments especially those of you who know me and know that i have a bike in vancouver...as the chariot that i was riding resembled the one at home only in that they both had two wheels and were referred to as motorbike...there lies the end of the similarities so let me give you a little brief...400% more detailed than i received from my friend this afternoon...
this particular bikes was design by the british in the 50s to satisfy the need for two wheeled transporation...unlike my bike at home the gears shift on the left side and move in oposite direction 1-4 in a downward movement...that means that the reat break is operated by the left foot instead of the right foot like at home...meanwhile the clutch is still on the left handlebar and the front break on the right handle bar...that doesn't really matter too much as the front break on these master pieces of technology don't work...
now to start these machines one has to equallise the pressure that builds up in the engine...one does this by push a little lever known as an equalizer...i learned about this really quickly as i lay there waiting to be rolled over by a heard of something...
god bless the queen
